Opening of the Prison Doors

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Prison doors swung open today in a very sudden and unanticipated fashion and I was released. I am confident that the prayers of many saints have availed much on my behalf. I have much to report of the 74 days I spent in jail. The grace of God was abundant. It is a testimony to the Father's grace that I was released on the 5th day of the 8th month, signifying Grace and New Beginnings.

It has been a very busy day. I spent a number of hours visiting with Randy Simmons who has traveled with me in ministry. He drove down from Macon to pick me up as my daughter Kristin is currently in Pennsylvania, to return in a couple days.

I found several hundred e-mails in my inbox. My daughter forwarded many of them to me in jail. I am truly and deeply appreciative for all of the strong encouragement and prayers. They did much to sustain me during this, at times, weary season.

I do apologize that I cannot answer all of the hundreds of e-mails individually. It is a bit overwhelming when I have often struggled to keep up with the daily volume of writing to find myself with 2 and 1/2 months of accumulated e-mail. So please let me tell you all with the greatest sincerity that I have been blessed abundantly by your cards, messages, prayers, scriptures, financial gifts, and godly encouragement.

I hope to post a more thorough update tomorrow. We never know what a day will bring. This day was truly a day of grace and mercy from the Father. I wanted to get this posted tonight as I know many have been concerned for my welfare.

May you be blessed with peace and understanding in these days,

Joseph Herrin

Praise God, Praise God, Praise God!

I have felt for about a week that it would be "any day now" and so did not send you another letter by mail.

You have been in our hearts and in our thoughts every day, dear brother Joseph.

Welcome home!
